Make the first version almost too small

Pick something you would like a little more of in your life. Reading, walking, writing, cooking. Then choose a first version you can do on a busy day: one page, a walk around the block, a single sentence.

Save that small version as a habit chain in Solsty. Give it a name that tells you what to do, such as “read one page after lunch.” You can do more whenever you want.

Give it a place in the day

Choose an existing moment that could make room for the new routine. After making coffee. Before closing your laptop. When you come home. Think about when the action feels natural to you.

If the moment repeatedly does not work, move it. Your first choice is a starting point, and you can adjust it to the day you actually have.

Let a missed day be a missed day

A chain is a record of showing up, and a gap belongs in that record too. If you miss a day, return with the smallest version the next time you can.

A fresh start can be very small.

You can also write a sentence about what got in the way. Was the action too large? Was the timing awkward? That note gives you something concrete to change.

Keep what feels worth returning to

After a week, ask whether the routine is adding something you care about. Enjoyment counts. So does a little more quiet or a moment outside.

Keep the useful parts. Change or remove the rest. The aim is to make a routine that has a place in your life.

Make a little room for yourself.
